Duties

  • Monitors political and national security situations, policy developments, technological advancements that pose any barriers/or concerns that could potentially thwart United State Government (USG) efforts.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and makes recommendations on policy, programs and scientific effectiveness as evidenced by improvement or deterioration in the political, military, economic, or social conditions within the assigned country.
  • Makes policy recommendations related to effective verification and compliance of arms control, nonproliferation, and disarmament agreements or commitments. Represents the United States on delegations.
  • Develops and proposes resolutions of policy and procedural issues, and coordinates implementation of policy decisions as they relate to arms control, nonproliferation, and disarmament verification and compliance.
  • At the 11 and 12 level, the incumbent performs essentially the same duties as outlined above, however, the scope and complexity of assignments are of less responsibility and independence and receive closer supervision than at the GS-13 level.
