Arlington Economic Development (AED) and Arlington Convention and Visitors Service (ACVS) seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented new college graduate or currently enrolled bachelor’s or graduate student for the position of Marketing Intern - Summer. This position will provide in-depth, hands-on learning opportunities ideal for individuals interested in economic development and destination marketing careers.


The Marketing Intern will catalog, organize and add metadata to photos and video assets in AED’s existing digital asset management (DAM) system (PhotoShelter). These assets are used across a wide array of economic development and tourism marketing, advertising and communication channels. The position will also support the department’s broader marketing and communications efforts, including social and digital content creation, research, and other marketing initiatives as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must have recently received a bachelor’s or master’s degree within the past year, OR is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program;

• Excellent organizational ability;

• Interest in photography, video, DAMs, graphic design and/or cataloging using metadata;

• Strong written and verbal communication skills;

• Ability to work in a team environment;

• Ability to interact effectively with many levels of staff;

• Proficient in MS Office applications


Additional Details:

• Position start date is negotiable, but preferably no later than early June

• 40 hours a week for up to 12 weeks

• Salary range: $18 - $25 per hour
