Position Description
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Planning and Zoning Division. This is accomplished by coordinating the Development Review Committee (DRC) and processing zoning and subdivision plat requests to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council. Other duties include preparing for and attending meetings, providing administrative support, greeting and interacting with visitors and responding to complaints and inquiries, providing planning, zoning, and platting information to the general public and developers. This position does not provide direction to other employees and reports to the Managing Director of Development Services.

The city offers vacation and sick leave, as well as ten paid holidays. Full time employees earn two weeks of vacation during their first year of employment and 10 hours of sick leave a month.
What We're Looking For
Planning Technician - Four years of college resulting in a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in urban planning, public administration, business administration, or related field. One to two years of professional office experience or any level of municipal planning experience. Valid Class C Drivers License.

Typical Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
