Program Administrator- Roanoke Valley Collective Response

General Description

The Roanoke Valley Collective Response (RVCR) Program Administrator is responsible for supporting the program and the Director administratively as well as with all correspondence, outreach efforts for the RVCR and working alongside the RVCR Director to promote the mission of the program.


This position will also be responsible for the administration of monthly meetings including agenda development, distribution, and related record keeping; quarterly assessments; and all social media, including upkeep and maintenance of website, social media platforms, and managing communications to members of the collective including meetings, announcements, and Blueprint information.


The Roanoke Valley Collective Response Program Administrator is a Special Projects Manager within the Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission, and may provide additional administrative support to our Transportation, Community Development, and RIDE Solutions

programs, especially in the realm of grant research and writing.


Responsibilities

● Oversee and manage the monthly Collective Response Stakeholder and Collective’s Advisory Committee meetings. This will include creating agenda and other needed meeting materials to support monthly Collective or project meetings, meeting note

taking, and dissemination of information to and among Stakeholders

● Maintains up to date roster of Collective Response members including working group and project membership

● Responsible for updates to Blueprint tool as assigned by the director

● Responsible for the communication of monthly, workgroup project, and additional meetings between the Collective Response director, stakeholders, RVARC leadership,

and the Executive Director

● Facilitates communication on behalf of the Collective Response through the RVCR email account, website, social media, and additional software as determined

● Supports and maintains as assigned social media sites promoting the Collective.

● Supports and assists with distribution of any promotional materials developed to provide awareness or education about addiction, recovery, the Collective Response, and

other community efforts addressing these issues

● Identifies perspective members and performs outreach to increase and maintain Collective Response membership and assist new stakeholders with greater involvement

in the Collective

● Works with RVCR Director and other Regional Commission staff to identify and successfully pursue funding opportunities for multiple Commission programs from

public and private sources such as Federal or foundation grants

● Facilitate and monitor progress on various Collective Response initiatives as assigned by the director

● Administrative and communications support to other Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission programs and departments at the direction of the RVCR Director

or RVARC Executive Director.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

● Must have proficient communication and writing skills, including the ability to understand complex written and oral direction

● Excellent organizing skills both administratively and programmatically

● Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, government officials, organizational representatives, and the general public. Ability to work with diverse populations

● Grant writing and researching skills

● Knowledge of issues around addiction, recovery, wellness, and public health. Ability to comprehend and simplify complex concepts

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets), Wordpress, Squarespace, Adobe Acrobat, databases, or the willingness

and ability to learn

● Public speaking/presentation skills a plus

● Knowledge of recovery services and the recovery ecosystem a plus.

● Website design and databases a plus


Education and Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in relevant area preferred. A combination of professional experience, training and education can be supplemented in lieu of a degree. Minimum 2 years of

professional experience required.

● Must have a basic level of knowledge of addiction and trauma OR be willing to learn this knowledge area.

● This position is an entry-level of a professional development track. Dedication and willingness to continue education through attendance of workshops, completion of courses, certificates, seminars, or distance learning modules is encouraged for

advancement to subsequent positions of responsibility.


Physical Requirements

● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vocal communication is required. Visual acuity is required for depth perception, peripheral vision, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. 


Salary & Benefits

● $40,000 - $43,000 starting range depending upon combined experiences and education. Excellent benefits package including premium health insurance (dental/vision), sick and vacation leave, paid holidays, professional development.
