The Adams County Office of Planning and Development (ACOPD) focuses on a long-term commitment to promoting economic vitality, strengthening communities, and protecting scenic, natural, and cultural resources with the intent to enhance the quality of life for residents, while conserving the uniqueness and character of Adams County.


Primary Function: The primary function of this position will be specific to environmental planning activities including, stormwater, sewage and water facilities, waste management, sustainability, and resiliency, etc. This will require engagement with the public and coordination with local municipalities as well as, interaction with other local agencies and organizations and numerous state and federal agencies as needed. This position does not require extensive fieldwork.

Hours Of Work: Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch (37.5 hours per week full-time position.) However, due to the nature of this position, some evening and weekend hours may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in planning, environmental services, or related field.

• OR two (2) years or more of on-the-job experience in related fields of work.

Annual salary: $45,000
