The Town of Blacksburg Planning Division will have an opening for one paid intern for the Fall. This internship offers a variety of experiences as well as ownership of a larger project that the intern will work on from start to finish. This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience for a career in urban planning and design. 

For the Fall 2023 internship, we are looking for a candidate with a particular interest in and experience with landscape architecture. Successful candidates will have familiarity with landscape design, as well as, urban and regional planning. Coursework in the following topic areas is also applicable: sustainability, economic development, architectural history, political science, environmental studies, geography, public administration or other closely related fields.

This position pays $15/hour and is for 6-10 hours per week, from mid-August through mid-December 2023. Applications are due by August 13th at 5:00 pm Eastern.
