• In this position, you will perform entry-level planning duties, such as reviewing building permits and minor land use review applications. You will also respond to customer inquiries regarding zoning and land use regulations. With the thriving economic conditions of the Pikes Peak region, the City of Colorado Springs is experiencing a high pace of development.

 Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:

• Review and process building permit for residential and commercial developments that vary in complexity, and includes plan reviews, certificate of occupancy inspections and processing financial assurances for private site improvements.
• Provide service to residential and commercial building customers; perform planner-in-charge desk duties
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide assistance regarding planning, zoning, and land use regulations
• Communicate possible zoning issues to property owners and contractors, and maintain working relationships and coordination with internal and external review partners.
• Scan, maintain, and upload information into City programs/systems.
